OKOROCHA URGES YOUTHS TO BRACE UP TO TAKE OVER
- AS IMO STUDENTS’ LEADERS CELEBRATE HIS FREE EDUCATION LEGACY

The immediate past governor of Imo State, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has emphasized the need for Nigerian youths to get ready to take over the political leadership of Nigeria, saying, that he and his contemporaries will not be in charge forever.
Speaking when officials of the Imo State University Students Union Government paid him a visit at the Unity House, Abuja FCT, the Imo West Senator and chairman of Senate committee on Culture and Tourism, reminded his youthful guests that; “that tomorrow you were told about in your primary and secondary schools is today.”
He admonished the students leaders not to be dismayed or distracted by whatever challenges the country may be facing at the moment.
“There is a chasm in the political leadership of Imo State, Southeast and Nigeria at large and it falls on you to get ready to fill this gap. But, first of all, you must get the needed training and education in order to provide more visionary, more creative and more impactful leadership.”
He encouraged them to be serious with their studies and avoid anything that would rob them of their dreams in life.
“You are at a sensitive period in your lives, but you must guard against falling off the track of your dreams. You must keep your eyes on your goals and be prepared to win the race for Imo, Southeast and Nigeria.”
Speaking earlier, the Students’ Union President of Imo State University, Comrade Oguike Aristotle praised the political icon for his vision in empowering children of the poorest of the poor witg qualitative education and extending that same vision to the entire State when he was governor.
Oguike, an alumnus of Rochas Foundation College, recounted how his educational dreams might have been aborted, but for Rochas Foundation College which afforded him the opportunity to go to school.
“His Excellency is my daddy, he gave me the opportunity to acquire secondary education, free of charge and the free education program which he introduced in Imo State, during his time as governor has made it possible for thousands of Imo children who may not have had the opportunity of going to school, to get university education.”
