IMO GOVERNOR BANS ISSUANCE OF (CofO) AND OTHER LAND TITLES.
Imo governor-elect , His Excellency , Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, has put an immediate stop over issuance of Certificates of Occupancy and other land titles in Imo state .
4thestatereporters.com gathered that the governor -elect gave such stern directive after a study of the report submitted to him on land matters by the newly constituted Technical Transition Committee peopled by experts and professionals with well informed knowledge about the operations and activities of the outgoing government .
However , Chief Ihedioha has maintained that any officials found wanting in the directives would have themselves to blame.
Civil servants in Imo state, especially those serving at the state’s Ministry of Lands, have been directed by the governor-elect, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, to stop issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) and other land titles forthwith.
The development was made public in a statement issued by the governor-elect’s media aide, Mr. Chibuike Onyeukwu, the statement read: “After a study of the report submitted to him on land matters, the governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has issued the following directives:
“All further processing, issuance, execution and collection of Certificates of Occupancy, in respect of land within the Owerri Capital Territory, are hereby suspended and put on hold forthwith. “Civil servants, public servants, special aides and government officials whose duties concerns land matters, including, but not limited to the registry of deeds, allocation of state land, processing, issuance, execution and delivery or release of Certificates of Occupancy, are to be guided and strictly comply with the above directive. “
Any person found to have flouted these directives, would have himself or herself to blame.
